In order to promote a culture of appreciation and celebration of teacher dedication, you and your school community, including students, families, and support staff, are encouraged to celebrate your teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4–8; this includes National Teacher Day on May 5.
You can celebrate teachers by:
- Encouraging parents, staff, and students (in accordance with DOE Digital Citizenship and Social Media Guidelines) to post photos of remote learning on social media using the hashtag #ThankATeacherNYC and #DOEConnected; and
- Sending notes of gratitude to recognize teachers via the online Teacher Thank You Tool.
