Minutes to PS 130M PA General Meeting

1. Principal Opening Remarks
a. Welcomed and thanked parents, assistant principals (PAs), PA, and Ms. Nicklas as interpreter.

c. PAs are overseen by the Chancellor
i. Member Status: Any parent who has a child in the school is a member of the “general
committee” and entitled to vote and run for office (typically after volunteering for at least
one year prior to running so to learn the responsibilities associated with each position.
ii. Term Limits: Each position is three consecutive one-year terms.
iii. General parent meetings are normally held every Thursday at 8:45 AM via Zoom.

8:45 AM during a special expedited meeting.

ceremonies. Currently looking at different options: ex. Taking photos outdoors;

applications (which have not been collected for many years).
b. Two Types of Programs: SWP: School-wide Program and TA: Targeted Assistance. PS 130 is
under SWP, which means school programs are for all students. Equity is key.
c. The Arts programs will be held tentatively on Fridays. Drumming and fife will remain suspended;
NDI, Violin, Ballroom, Inside Broadway, RTK, and YPC will resume.
d. There will be additional time slots available for families to pick up items, such as math
workbooks for offline practice, materials, etc. Look out for the notices.
