Minutes to PS 130M PA General Meeting December 3, 2020

Meeting Commence: 8:45 AM
1. Principal Opening Remarks:
a. Welcomed and Thanked parents, PA, Ms. Nicklas
b. Town Hall Monday, Dec 7 - 6:30pm
c. Thanking Yanna & Kaitlin for putting together executive board, as other schools
still don’t have
PA in place.
2. PA Updates by Co-President: Kaitlin Fuchs
a. Fill out attendance form
b. Reading and Approval of Minutes: from November 5, 2020
i. Minutes from November 5, 2020 - moved to accept minutes into record -
Kathy 2nd the motion.

c. Treasurer’s Report - November 2020
i. As of the end of November, $5,400 raised from annual giving.
3. Upcoming Events & Fundraising
a. Meadow Farms Fundraiser just completed - November 16 - November 30
b. Virtual Scholastic Book Fair - started November 23rd - will end December 6
c. Monday, December 21st - Ms Bradford organizing Virtual Holiday Show – plan to
show to
families in the evening
d. Thursday, December 24 - Friday, January 3rd - Winter Recess - schools closed
e. Monday, January 4 - Return to School
4. Reminder: Many ways to support school besides Annual Ask
a. Can also support individual teachers on Donorschoose.org. i. Teachers listed whole bunch of great activities that got funded
b. Digital Box Tops app - download and scan receipt
c. Check with employer for matching grant

5. Principal Remarks:
a. Thanking SLT for time put in.
b. Shows mood meter - constantly reminded of how hard it has been for parents,
kids, teachers
c. City pushing for 5 days a week - getting rid of blended learning - will speak more
about it at
Town Hall on Monday, December 7th.
i. PS 130 - still about 75% remote
ii. Teachers - some are fully remote, some coming in up to 4 days a week
iii. Fridays - remote for all - 1 class/1 community - participating in arts, PE,
computer
iv. Want to keep this schedule going, will not change until at least after New
Year
v. Some school are trying to get to 5 days a week (many not able to in
District 2) major thing
is staffing, hard for us to do for 25% kids, want to
keep at least 1 consistent teacher for
whole class
vi. Will let everyone know if anything changes/updates - open to suggestions
d. Parent Question: Charlie: Question on cash balance - says October, needs to be
changed
to November
e. Some good news - Chess has started - PS 130M is #1 in terms of Participation
