Minutes PS 130M PA General Meeting February 4, 2021
Attendance: Mr. Fong, Gloria Tsang, Angie Lin, Jennie Yin, Charlie Zheng, Mary Kwok, Kathy Leung, Damian Driver, Yanna Xu, Lisa Wong, Yvonne Moy, Jaimie Gautier, Gilberto Gautier Sr, Stephanie Lee-Wong, Kaitlin Fuchs
Meeting Commence: 8:45 AM

• The topics to be discussed are:
o Reading and Approval of Minutes: Shared minutes, submitted on record no amendments.
o Treasurer’s Report & Interim Report

• No parent questions upon review of reports
• Fundraising
o Annual Ask- PayPal, Digital Box Tops, matching grants, Amazon Smile
• Upcoming Events
o Tuesday, February 9th: Middle School Applications Due
o Friday, February 12th: Lunar New Year, schools closed
o Monday, February 15-Friday, February 19th: Midwinter Recess, schools closed
o Friday, February 26th: Virtual Chinese New Year Show
• Principal’s remarks/announcements/reports
o Mr. Fong announces that Ms. Bradford will be hosting the Black History Month which will
now be virtual. It will be live streamed on the school’s YouTube channel, Thursday 2/11 at
6:30 PM. This year she is honoring PS 130 families of color.
o Mr. Fong reminds parents that the school experience surveys that were passed out from the
DOE is due tomorrow 2/5/2021. o Report cards have been issued and can be found on the NYC Schools account
• Any parent issues, questions or proposals
o Reminders to parents of other ways we can help support our schools PA this year. AmazonSmile, Box Tops (which now has gone digital), matching grants.
o CEC is now opening up seats for their CEC district 2 executive board to all District 2 parents. Unlike years before now all parents have a vote and will be able to vote in May 2021. More details will be shared with parents as it becomes available.
o Mary- Let the PA board know that AmazonSmile had/has a slight glitch. It is asking those who solely use the APP on their smartphones unable to select this option. She realized that
you must have an option on your APP that allows you to click AmazonSmile when
ordering.
o Kaitlin announces that this March we will not be holding a nomination for the voting
committee
for the 2021-2022 executive board at PS 130. We have decided to hold an
expedited election in
the Fall. Due to the difficulties of maintaining parent volunteers this
year, we have decided to exercise this option. We do this with the hopes that the parent
participation will increase within the new school year.
