Minutes to PS 130M General Meeting

February 9, 2023

 

Attendance: Lisa Wong, Yvonne Moy, Gloria Tsang, Yanna Xu, Amy Hu, Joseph Li, Karen Ma, Alice Chen, and 20 other participants (see sign in sheet, in person)

Meeting Commence: 8:38am

Good morning, everyone. Mr. Fong won’t be here today; the PA will be presenting the meeting.

 i.     Last month’s January general meeting minutes is on the screen for review and to be approved. It will be posted on the PA blog once its approved. 5 people approved the minutes, minutes are placed on record and will be posted on the PA blog site.

     Karen – asks if there are any objections? No.

     ii.   Last month’s financial treasury report for January is on the screen for review and approval. 2 people approved the treasury report, the treasury report will be placed on record and posted on the PA blog site.

           2.      Upcoming events –

            -  Chinese New Year parade is coming up on Sunday, 2/12/23. The 5^th grade lion dance group will be in the parade. 
              Joe – come join us and show some support in the crowd for our little lions.     

            -    The Annual Banquet is on 5/19/22 

         -          The Annual Banquet is on 5/19/22

           i.     The Banquet is on May 19, 2023, and we will be selling raffles tickets. Please see Lisa and Yvonne in the PA room for raffle tickets. We are asking parents to donate raffles prizes. Ask your boss at work or at home if there are any items that  are new and just sitting around that you don’t need for raffle prizes.

Any questions?

Parent – is the book fair taking place when parent teacher conference is happening?

Answer – The next book fair will be in May, and it will be a buy one get one free event.

Joe – Thank you for all the donations for the asylum migrant families. It was a great turn out and all our donated items were gone within 45 mins. It was amazing, thank you parents!

Still deciding on the valentines dance for next week, a letter will go out if we do decide to have one.

Parent – what time does the lion dance start on Sunday?

Answer – It starts at 1pm on Hester & Mott Street. Students will come in early for practice at 10:30am.
