Dearest Families,
We hope this message finds you and your children doing well, and we hope everyone had a wonderful summer. We are so excited to welcome your children back to PS 130 (or for the very first time) next Thursday, September 5th!
We wanted to inform you that you will be receiving a message from your teacher(s) via Operoo about your child’s assigned class by next Wednesday, September 4th, if you haven’t heard from them yet, as our teachers officially return next week. Please make sure your child has this information with them for next Thursday, so it will be easier to direct them to their morning arrival spots.
For grades 1-5, the school day will begin at 8:15AM (Breakfast will be available starting at 7:35AM). Kindergarten will begin at 9:00AM and Pre-K will begin at 9:15am on Thursday and Friday.
We suggest that students not bring in all of their school supplies all at once and to make sure supplies or bags are labeled with your child’s full name and class so that we can help bring them to your children’s classrooms, if needed.
Students in Grades 1-5 will enter through the front main entrance doors. We now have a camera and buzzer for the main entrance, so families will need to be buzzed in if late. Please see attachments for arrival and dismissal information with visuals. We apologize if there are any errors with the translations, as we used a program to translate the slides.
Additionally, especially for younger children, please make sure that at least one personal item is labeled with your child's full name and class. If you have not yet filled out a Blue Card on Operoo, please have a piece of paper in your child’s backpack with your name and phone number so that you can be reached if necessary.
We look forward to meeting with you virtually via a brief Zoom Family Information Session next Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at 5:00PM. The session will be in English and we will send out translated transcripts after the session. We will do our best to record the session for those who are not able to attend (or if the session reaches maximum capacity) and provide a YouTube link afterwards.
