Joseph Li – Co-President
Joseph Li – Good morning, let’s get the meeting started.
Renny Fong (“RF”) – introduced Superintendent Kelly McGuire.
Kelly McGuire (“KG”) – we had a brief SLT meeting prior to the general meeting. Principal Fong will be announcing his retirement. January 30, 2026 will be his last physical day.
I will be sending a letter to the school community on how they will be selecting a new principal. We will be seeking community input about what will make a good principal. We will take feedback and it will help us to make a decision.
Just want to say PS 130 has an incredible history of pulling together a strong arts program.
Thank you.
RF – Thank you. If people have questions they can reach out to me.
All schools have been through transitions. Thank you all for all of your support. I’ve been here since 1997. Lets give a big hand to the PA.
For the last 2 weeks, I’ve been freaking out because never before have we owed money. During a recent meeting the Chancellor announced that Mayor Adams said we are no longer held responsible for the money that we owed. We no longer owe $175,000. Some schools owed as much as $500,000.
We received grant, so NDI will be paid. It saves us approximately $16,000. The program for the first and fourth graders are paid for by the grant.
Thank you.
Joseph Li – let’s welcome our new board members Manya, Moe and Kevin who is busy today.
