PA Announcements:
• Board members will be nominated today; official vote will occur at PA meeting in June.
• Nominations were as follows: Co-President: Nathaniel Conan and Leslie Ng, Vice-President: Janney Chan and Kaitlin Fuchs, Co-Treasures: Kathy Leung and Damian Driver, Secretaries: Jaimie Gautier, Stephanie Lee, Yanna Xu.
PA Announcements:
• Board members will be nominated today; official vote will occur at PA meeting in June.
• Nominations were as follows: Co-President: Nathaniel Conan and Leslie Ng, Vice-President: Janney Chan and Kaitlin Fuchs, Co-Treasures: Kathy Leung and Damian Driver, Secretaries: Jaimie Gautier, Stephanie Lee, Yanna Xu.
Principal Remarks:
• Please visit the schools website at www.ps130m.org for up-to-date information about the school and events.
• Today (4/11) is the deadline for the school survey; We are currently at 56% forms submitted.
• The 5th grade recently had the opportunity to attend an assembly in school called, “Small Decisions vs. Not -So-Smart Decisions.”
• Mr. Fong has been utilizing the “Mood Meter” with teachers and students. One parent asked that it be distributed in both Chinese and English.
• Mr. Fong discussed the benefits of reading and discussed the book he is currently reading, “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor.
• PS 130 recently raised almost $11,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
• Middle school acceptance letters are anticipated to be emailed out next week, which is a change from how they used to be sent home via envelope in school. The letters will also be mailed home. The school guidance counselor, Ms. Levanoni is available for any question’s parents may have.
• Mr. Fong recognized PS 130’s PA for their commitment to the school and strong fundraising efforts.
• Mr. Fong addressed a question regarding holding an “Open House” where parents can visit the classrooms. Parents are encouraged to speak to Mr. Fong about scheduling an after-school tour if needed and encouraged the parents to sign up for in-class events such as chaperoning trips to gain a sense of the student’s classroom to minimize classroom disruption.

• SLT membership is also up for nomination; if interested please submit your name for consideration/elections.
